After eight years of living in the Karen village of Huay Pakkoot, the forest has become my home and the Karen people my family.
But over time I’ve seen the people have to turn to corn farming for income, and with this we've watched the jungle slowly fragment, as more and more is cut down.
With Karen Community Gibbon Tours, my dream is to help the community economically benefit from protecting the forest around them, and in turn protect the amazing arboreal creatures that inhabit it.
Every tour we lead supports local families, contributes to reforestation efforts, and moves us closer to a future where the forest is protected and the community flourishes so that together, we can hear the forest sing again.
